Carroll County Public Schools Transition Connections Fair

Carroll County Public Schools will hold its 3rd Transition Connections Fair on Friday, May 8, 2009, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Carroll Community College. The fair is designed for all high school juniors and seniors (grades 11, 12 and Post Secondary) who have an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) receiving special education services. Students’ families are also invited to attend.
The Transition Connections Fair will offer numerous education sessions designed to provide students with information about accessing services in college, understanding the advantages and disadvantages of disability disclosure, career assessments, resume development, interviewing skills, and much more. The parent sessions will be designed to provide parents/guardians with information about accessing services in college, choosing the right college, parenting your transition age child, navigating your way through the adult system, and much more. The cost is FREE and lunch will be provided to all students.
